Fire restrictions have closed some sections of the Heysen Trail in the Flinders. Walkers also need to take notice of animal control programs in that area.
A new version of the Heysen Trail map 1 has just been released. The map incorporates the Wild South Coast Way and is now available on our on line store. The Friends' Map and Book clearance sale is also continuing.

With the increasing risk of F&MD being introduced to Australia, it is essential that walkers take precautions to combat the potential spread of this and other soil borne diseases. Walkers are asked to clean footwear and equipment to eliminate the chance of spreading disease.
The Heysen Trail through the Buckaringa Sanctuary will be closed to walkers from the evening of 26th August to 8.00am on 29th August 2022. The closure is due to a feral animal control program being conducted in the area.

This is a major update: the downloadable GPX file and Interactive Map have been updated to include 13 trail re-routes, minor corrections and improvements since the last bundled update in February 2021.
The Office will reopen on Tuesday. Volunteers will be in attendance but due to the current COVID outbreak, we will not be open to the public. Volunteers will be in attendance to answer emails and phone calls, process On-line shop orders, membership enquiries/renewals and assist with enquiries about walking the Heysen Trail.
