Our policies and guidelines

Our policies guide our decision-making, protect our members’ privacy and help ensure that you are as safe as possible when you are using the Heysen Trail. You can read a brief overview of each of our policies below, or you can click on the link to read the full policy. 


Privacy and Security policies

We value your right to privacy and take measures to protect any personal information we may hold about you. We do not make your personal information available to anyone outside our organisation and only use your information for official purposes. 

We do our best to ensure the highest possible security standards and any transactions on this site are made using a secure connection. We do not retain or store your credit card details.


Social media policy

We aim to ensure that any social media use which relates to the Friends and the Heysen Trail is informative, respectful and considerate. Our Social Media policy provides guidelines and expectations for all contributors to our social media platforms.


Volunteer Support policy

We rely on our volunteers and supporters for trail development, promotion, our walk program and administration. We believe it is important to support our volunteers and recognise their commitment to the Friends.


Grievance Resolution guidelines

We aim to build a culture of mutual respect and a collaborative approach to achieve our goals. Our Grievance Resolution guidelines help to ensure we have a transparent process for dealing with any issues that may arise.


Shipping and Delivery policy

Guided by our Shipping and Delivery policy, we do our best to ensure that people who register for our events or buy our merchandise get confirmation or receive their goods in a timely fashion.


Cancellation and Refunds policy

Whether we are able to give refunds where walks are cancelled varies depending on the timing and circumstances. Our Cancellation and Refunds policy covers circumstances where refunds may be made for walk events and for items purchased from our store, whether online or in-store.
