What visitors have to say…

  1. Tank at shelter ~20% full. Not much in Tank near toilet.

    1. Friends of the Heysen Trail

Interesting, as we have reported much better than that. The tap was working? Julian

  2. Friends of the Heysen Trail

FoHT Trail Development team checked tank on 8/4/2022 – the tank was approx 85% full.

  3. Michael Noonan

    E2E S2N Carol and Mick. There 30.5.21
One of best campsites on trail excluding huts. Has toilet, camping platform, bench seat, lots of water, some large shrubs for shelter, lots of green … when we were there… level camping areas, and local landowner keeps it stocked with firewood.

  4. Marlene

E2E11 stopped here today for morning tea. Tank at the shelter was full and water clear. Small tank at the new toilet has just enough water above the tap level to flow. Plenty of seating for our group and the toilet was greatly appreciated.

  5. Carl Greenstreet

Stopped here for lunch on 15June19. Unfortunately, I ended up on the wrong side of the marsh and waded across ankle deep water to reach it. This is a very pretty campsite. I reckon it might also have the best loo on the Heysen!

  6. Friends of the Heysen Trail

Hi Rob, the bridge is on the line to be re-installed but unfortunately has not reached the top of the list yet but we are hoping to get to it soon.

Our Maintenance Coordinator, Colin, has reached out to you by email to take up your offer.

Thanks for helping us get it out of the creek in the first place, we welcome you’re help in the re-installation!

  7. Rob Hammat

When will the bridge that was across the creek at the weir be put back.
When it is ready let me know and I can help with a front end loader

  8. Paula Stephenson

Camped here night of 22/9/15. As above says great walking. Whilst I was setting up camp, a local farmer, Glen, drove in to release an echidna that had found its way into his yard.
    Frosty tent in the morning.

  9. 1st camp on my walk from Spalding to Parachilna. Tank has plenty of water on 2/5/15. She’ll be overflowing through winter I’m sure. Good campsite with heaps of room for multiple groups. The cows can get a bit noisy through the night be that’s all part of the country life. Fantastic walking along the Bundaleeer channels around Spalding, and the valley north of this campsite is a great walk too.
