Inman Valley-Cape Jervis (Week 9)

This event has passed.

What to expect

End 2 End Minus start their final week along the Trail with six days walking. After three years along the Trail, with some Covid related hiccups, we are on the final push.
Based at Victor Harbor and using the “Dad Joke” infested Gavin, as our “tranporteur exceptionnel” for the entire week we should endure an exceptional week of walking, with a celebratory dinner in Victor Harbor on our final night.
The leadership team will be providing a BBQ on Tuesday night, in conjunction with the Talent Quest, prior to our rest day. BYO drinks, the rest will be provided.
The theme for the week is “Naughty-cal”.
BIOSECURITY MEASURES – Please ensure you thoroughly clean your footwear, clothing, walking poles and other equipment before and after each walk to remove all seeds, dirt and other debris. Removed seeds should be bagged and disposed in a ‘to landfill’ garbage bin.

Walk difficulty: End-to-End Minus 2

Starting from Parachilna Gorge and walking from the north to the southern Cape Jervis, rather than usual south to north walking direction. This second North-South traverse of the Heysen Trail begins, with three weeks walking over three years to complete the Trail in quick smart time.

These walks are for those wishing to walk some or all of the Heysen Trail. There are approximately sixty day walks involved, spread over six years. The southern walks, from Cape Jervis to Kapunda, are held on one Sunday per month during the walk season. Due to the greater travelling distances involved, from Kapunda northwards, the walk is held over a weekend.

These arrangements make it easy to walk the entire trail because the Friends of Heysen Trail work out many of the logistics.

These walks are reasonably demanding and for walkers who have walked regularly in various terrain. They have a walking time of about 5 to 6 hours and will require a high degree of physical fitness.

Refer to the End-to-End Walks page for more detailed information.
