This event has passed.

What to expect

The Clare Wine and Wilderness Trail was completed in 2023 and is a 100km tail around the Clare Valley, traveling on a network of backroads, road reserves & private property. It is graded as a moderate hiking trail comprising of 6 stages.

We will be walking during bud-burst so we will see the vines awakening from their winter dormancy.

Included in Package

This packaged extended walk includes bus fares, a walk fee (Golden Boots does not apply), welcome drinks and nibbles. The final celebration dinner to be held on Saturday night is at the cost of the walkers.

Please note only registrations for the whole week will be accepted.

Accommodation

Participants will need to book their own accommodation. The Discovery Park Clare Caravan Park have cabins catering for a range of budgets and powered and un-powered caravan and camping sites. I suggest you book as soon as possible.

Group activities will be based at the caravan park except for the final dinner.

Excluded

There will be an optional activity of a structured wine tasting hosted by Paul Gill, which will be at the caravan park on Tuesday evening for those interested in participating at an additional cost. We may need to split into two groups over 2 nights if the numbers require this. Please use the meal RSVP option to register for the wine tasting. The cost will be determined when the number of participants is known. Around $30.

Walkers wishing to participate in wine tastings after each day’s walk do so at their personal cost and risk.
