    Extra Comment:
If you need an alternative site to escape the wind there is an option where the Trail crosses Hacklins Corner Road about 2km further along as you go north. If you go down the road … Spalding side … about 100m on the right there is a square excavation into the road cutting that is level and sheltered but overgrown with grass. May by worth s try….

Not many options between Hallett and Spalding, everyone including us looking for alternatives. Need a Hut!!!

Terribly exposed place to camp. After filling up on water, I travelled on north to Hacklins Corner Road. Walk west down the road and there is a sheltered road cut perfect for a single tent!

25/9/2018 Water was OK, cooked a meal and had a dry camp at Parker Rd.

  5. David George

Far too windy when I arrived on the 19th Oct 17 so topped up with water and camped further south near Hacklins Cnr Rd.

  6. Paula Stephenson

I camped here the night if 24/9/15. Tank was full. Wind was not too bad, easterly, so I went downhill a bit to the west. Fantastic views. If blowing a gale, which I suspect it often is, if going S one could collect water and drop down to EEGeorge rd. if going N, it would be better to seek a more sheltered spot on the road and go up to collect water.
    The roadsides are quite wide.

Whistling Trig Tank is one of our newest watering points.

Called Whistling Trig as the tank structure whistles in the wind, as the wind passes through the frame.

It is quite an exposed site and not suitable for camping unless you have a tent capable of withstanding potentially high winds. The trig is Crown Land, however the surrounding paddocks are private property
