Walk The Yorke – Wattle Point -Port Moorowie-Point Davenport

This event has passed.

What to expect

Saturday

From Wattle Point beach walking gives way to the cliffs of Troubridge Point. The final section into Port Moorowie follows the fence line between native vegetation and cropping land.

Sunday

This will be a long day of mostly beach walking. It can have soft sand and seaweed at certain times of the year which would make this especially strenuous.

Just before the Port Davenport Conservation Park the trail heads inland for a section of native vegetation.

Suggested accommodation – Edithburgh

NOTE – If you wish to walk on only one day, please contact the FOHT office (once bookings have opened) to register for that day’s walk. The on-line registration system will only allow you to register for both days.

Walk leaders: Peter Clark
Vicki Stewart
Registrations close: 2:00pm 25 August 2022

A group dinner has been booked at the Edithburgh Hotel in Edithburgh for 6.30 on Saturday night.
It is this meal to which the RSVP as part of registration applies.

To spread the love I suggest we go to the Troubridge Hotel on Friday night.

If the forecast temperature for Adelaide is equal or higher than 32C, walks are cancelled. For simplicity, this can be determined the night prior to the walk from the 7.00 pm ABC News Adelaide weather forecast, based upon the Bureau of Meteorology’s routine 4pm forecast.

Your Walk Leader will send an email to all walkers advising the walk is cancelled. We suggest you check your emails before leaving to join the walk. Even if the forecast temperature is later revised, the walk remains cancelled. In such a case walk fees will be refunded.

If unforeseen circumstances arise and you are no longer able to participate in the walk, please cancel your registration as soon as possible using the Manage Walk Registrations facility on your Account page.

Alternatively you can notify the office by 2.15pm on the last business day before the walk. Walk leaders do not have access to messages left on the answering machine after this time. If your Walk Leader has provided their mobile phone number you may be able to contact them prior to the walk (subject to phone service availability).
