SUMMARY:TS Mark Oliphant CP
DESCRIPTION:Come along and explore the little-known Mark Oliphant (formerly called Loftia Recreation Park)\, renamed in 1996 in honour of former State Governor Sir Mark Oliphant’s contribution to conservation.\n\nWe will walk through some of the outer reachers of the park plus along the more established trails while enjoying the bush landscape and hopefully seeing the native birds that are commonly seen in the area including the scarlet robin\, the golden whistler and the Adelaide rosella. We may even spot the odd kangaroo. The park is also an important habitat for the nationally endangered southern brown bandicoot.\n\nWhile not long at about 9kms\, it is an undulating walk along some rough trails with a few steep ups and downs so some bushwalking experience and fitness is desirable.\n\nBIOSECURITY MEASURES – Please ensure you thoroughly clean your footwear\, clothing\, walking poles and other equipment before and after each walk to remove all seeds\, dirt and other debris. SUMMARY:TW Three Parks Panorama

Re-entering Cox Scrub Conservation Park we use more walking trails back to the car park.\n\nThis is a long and testing walk – for experienced trail walkers only.\n\nYour walk leader is Dean Mortimer. Please call him as your first option if you have any issues on 0428 557 757. SUMMARY:EE15 Walk 49 - Dutchman's Stern to Eyre Depot\, Walk 50 - Eyre Depot to Warren Gorge
DESCRIPTION:This is a multi day walk. If you only wish to walk on one day\, please contact the office once registrations open.\n\nSaturday Walk: Dutchman’s Stern to  Eyre Depot\nA deceptively tough walk with a bit of everything – undulating firetracks with spectacular views\, rocky gorge walking and then 5km traversing the gibber strewn floodplain to Eyre Depot. \nSunday Walk: Eyre Deot to Warren Gorge  1.7 km walk in + 8.9km walk + 4.9km walk out + 1km to bus (16.5Km)\nAfter a 1.7 km walk-in to rejoin the trail at the Eyre Depot monument\, walkers follow a track to head back into the range\, before entering Depot Creek which winds its way northwards. The gradual climb up the winding creek bed with its waterfalls and rocky sections can make progress very slow. At GR 795 346 (Peter’s Corner) we leave the trail and enter a spur – tight creek line\, quickly climbing to a saddle\, approx. 1 km.  It crosses a 4WD track on the saddle and descends along a spur to another creek and a very pretty gorge.  It stays in the creek line\, leaving it only briefly to negotiate a gate and then returns to creek bed into Warren Gorge. \n \n\nWalk Difficulty – The Heysen Trail walks are demanding and suitable for experienced walkers who have walked regularly in various terrain consisting of long-distance trails with some steep inclines/declines\, irregular surface with loose uneven\, slippery base. They have a walking time of about 5 to 7 hours and will require a good degree of physical fitness.\n\nBIOSECURITY MEASURES – Please ensure you thoroughly clean your footwear\, clothing\, walking poles and other equipment before and after each walk to remove all seeds\, dirt and other debris. SUMMARY:TW Cleland
DESCRIPTION:Those of you that have walked with me before know that I love hills. I might be slower climbing them these days (aging they say) but I still love them. So\, this walk in Cleland has 2 lengthy climbs\, 2 descents (though not in that order) and a lot of undulations in between. Some road walking involved.\n\n22k long and with more than a hand full of vertical metres\, it makes for a good training walk for end to enders. Come join me (unless you are a member of E2E15 or E2E17 as you will be required to be elsewhere).\n\nThis walk may be shortened on the day if the weather decided not to cooperate.\n\nBIOSECURITY MEASURES – Please ensure you thoroughly clean your footwear\, clothing\, walking poles and other equipment before and after each walk to remove all seeds\, dirt and other debris. SUMMARY:LFT4 Watervale\, Penworthham\, Clare
DESCRIPTION:Saturday;  From Mount Horrocks Road we head south then west into Watervale.  A pretty small town\, the area originally granted to a pioneer David Davies in 1847 by Governor Robe.  David Davies arrived in SA from Wales in 1840\, purchasing land in 1842 where Watervale  is located.  David Davies first born child (daughter) was the very first ‘white’ child to be born north of Gawler.  We cross Horrocks Hwy and head north on the Reisling Trail for 7kms to Penwortham\, settled by John Horrocks in 1839. A pretty section of the trail.  Once again\, no buses this weekend.  Car shuffle as ease of access and shorter distances between start & finish points of our hikes.\n\nDinner on Saturday night\,\n\nWe have booked the Sevenhill Hotel on Saturday 16/08 at 6.00pm for our final dinner.  Downstairs in the cellar.  Dress code: Dress to Impress.\n\nPlease RSVP to Kylie kylieg1414@yahoo.com.au\n\n \n\n\n\nSunday;   From Saw Mill Road we enter the Spring Gully CP.  Views to the west across the northern end of the Adelaide Plains.  The Spring Gully CP protects Red Stringybark trees\, White Spider Orchids and other plants in the grassy woodland ecosystem.  Back roads take us north through undulating farm land and vineyards into Clare.  Lovely views of the Clare Valley agriculture.  Once again\, no buses this weekend.  Car shuffle as ease of access and shorter distances between start & finish points of our hikes.\n\n\n\nWalk Difficulty – The Lavender Trail walks are demanding and suitable for experienced walkers who have walked regularly in various terrain consisting of long-distance trails with some steep inclines/declines\, irregular surface with loose uneven\, slippery base.
